New York City HD

  1. I think this may ... no ... it must be the longest time since I've released a video blog. My entire experience here in NYC has gone without an official vidblog. It's sad since we've had over 30 people stay with us at one time or another, and so little of that I caught on film. I guess my excuse was that I was already making so much video at work, that I didn't feel the need to do anything more.

I regret that decision somewhat. It HAS been extraordinarily busy as of late, but I'm going to do my best to keep up from now on. Even if it's just recording 10 minutes a week, that'll add up to something nice in the end.

Please leave a comment below. Thanks guys. There will be a 'party montage' video blog coming up next. Had a ton of footage left over that didn't feel right in this piece.

  2. A woodpecker in Queens, NY not too far away from JFK airport. You don't see these that often anymore but the Long Island Railroad has been cutting down trees along its tracks so the wildlife is moving more and more into the city. This is the better quality version. Shot with my Canon HV20 in 24p mode fully zoomed it's out of focus and very shaky.

  3. I saw these birds when I was walking home from a journalistic assignment that one of my editors gave me. I keep seeing more and more strange birds in South Ozone Park: blue jays, cardinals, woodpeckers, and these. My friend told me these are mockingbirds...are these? Shot with my Canon HV20 in 24p mode manual white balance.
