As tight as a deadline can be. We were given the task of creating a two minute stop-frame animation during Promax 2015 at the BFI. The conference started on Thursday 29th October and the film was shown the next day at the awards ceremony at the Park Lane Hilton. Stressful and exhausting stuff, but fun. Kind of.
The music was also created from scratch over the same 48 hour period by Altitude Music.
It was all shot on an iPhone 6 using the excellent and ever improving app 'Osnap'.
Animated and put together by Dog & Monkey (Andrew & Fu). 3D models designed by Otter (Jez Pennington). Hand painted cell sequence by Penguin (Joanna Boyle).
3D models printed by Digits to Widgets (who know 3D printing inside out and are very helpful people.)
Watch a wall painted like you've never seen it done before. When easyJet Traveller commissioned street artist, David "Gnasher" Nash, to create a mural to become the cover of its August issue, the mag asked Dashboard Media to capture a time-lapse video of the event in Shoreditch, London. This project was entirely shot on an iPhone 5 over ten hours on 8 July 2013 and required 6,000 stills that were taken once every six seconds.
Dashboard then created an interactive-print version of the magazine cover, which shows the paint being sucked off the wall in reverse, if viewed with the Blippar augmented reality app. You can see this clip at vimeo.com/71349747 or by using the Blippar trigger-image shown at http://bit.ly/18PzxsN. To complete the package, the Dashboard team made a short montage of the artist talking about the project, which can be seen at vimeo.com/71349749.
Tweet a pic of yourself standing in front of this mural (see http://goo.gl/maps/kKsrQ for location) during Aug 2013 and you could even win two free flights, courtesy of easyJet. Details about this competition are at http://is.gd/coverstars
Big thank you to Lee at Global Street Art, the Blippar and eJ Traveller teams, Audio Network for the hot soundtrack, Pete Booth, who edited every frame of video, and Justin at Osnap for his sage tips. Respect is due to you all.
