  1. Kinnari & Pawan first met when Kinnari’s best friend from college persuaded her to venture out to Lillie’s, a Victorian-style bar in Union Square during a snowstorm. Kinnari had little desire to brave the cold, but eventually she relented. At the bar, Kinnari’s friend was the first to spot Pawan. Swinging into matchmaking mode, she dramatically knocked a menu off the table asking Pawan to pick it up as he walked by. Noticing another woman in Pawan’s company, Kinnari was at first discouraged. But when the groups mingled, Kinnari learned that the other woman was Pawan’s cousin. Hours of enchanting conversation later, Pawan offered to drive the girls home. Before saying goodnight, the two exchanged numbers and began what would eventually blossom into a whirlwind romance. Joined by family and friends, Kinnari & Pawan were married in a Hindu wedding ceremony at the Rockleigh Country Club, after dancing the night away at their beautiful sangeet, held at The Tides Estate. We had a blast producing this same-day-edit, which included a fun concept shoot at the site of their first meeting, Lillie’s Bar in Union Square, and Times Square in the heart of New York City. We couldn't be happier for this amazing couple and their newly joined family!

  2. Married sports fans know that marriage and sports have a lot in common. Success in both requires hard work, dedication, and sacrifice. For engaged football fans Komal and Shalin, the first step in joining their families would come when Komal would reconsider her lifelong dedication to the New York Jet’s in favor of reluctant allegiance to Shalin’s Baltimore Ravens. A big step for Komal, as in the words of Komal’s brother, “Everyone knows the Desai family is a Jet’s family!”

At their engagement extravaganza in Baltimore, Komal wanted to take it a step further; to show her undying love and support for Shalin in the biggest way possible. Always the one to pleasantly surprise his fiancé, Shalin would now become the unwitting subject of the surprise of a lifetime for any Ravens fan. Totally unbeknownst to Shalin, Komal had arranged to walk Shalin blindfolded onto the 50 yard line of M&T Bank Stadium, the home of the Baltimore Ravens. The big reveal would also include a full blown announcement of the starting lineup of the Parikh and Desai families in true primetime NFL fashion.

We were especially excited to take part in planning the big surprise, from convincing Shalin we just wanted to do a "casual video shoot" around town, to writing the script for the M&T Bank Stadium announcer!

  3. “A paradise you have found, but it too has found you.”

The word paradise often evokes distinct pastoral imagery of a lush Eden celebrated in pop culture by countless artists through time. The concept of such a place brings an immediate feeling of warmth and peace for those able to find it - but maybe paradise is more than a place.

The paradise found by Bansi and Edward first took the form of Saint Lucia, a breathtaking tropical island in the Caribbean. Their decision to elope wasn’t an easy one. Bringing together all of their friends and family was a big reason they originally planned for a traditional wedding in Philadelphia. When a member of Edward’s family fell ill, postponement seemed the only answer. Amid the uncertainty, the couple decided to escape on a short vacation in the Caribbean. The two arrived in Saint Lucia where they found a surreal natural beauty unlike any other. With the blessing of their families, the couple realized there would be no better way to bring the sights and sounds of a dream wedding in paradise back home than capturing it all in a film that would premiere at a surprise reception a few short months later; to all their extended friends and family in attendance, Bansi and Edward would unveil their surprise elopement. The experience and memories they brought back would last a lifetime, as would the small piece of themselves they left behind. The journey helped them realize that the paradise they found wasn’t a place at all, it was the true love they share for one another.

The four day shoot with no assistants or second shooters was definitely a challenge. We’re especially grateful to Bansi and Edward, who gave us complete control over all aspects of the creation of this film - from the concept, to the locations, to the various looks created in collaboration with Susmita Patel of Style by Susmita; to the words spoken reverently throughout the film by Mr. Michael Aubertin, which were scripted exclusively by Pacific Pictures.

  4. “Before man finds love, he is lost.”

What reads like part of an ancient Hindu proverb spoken beautifully by Pandit Satish Kumar, was in fact part of Avni and Abhishek’s original concept film created exclusively by Pacific Pictures for their stunning four day wedding same-day-edit, featuring a concept shoot at the awe-inspiring Bonneville salt flats and a one-of-a-kind vidai in a hot air balloon. Avni and Abhishek’s gorgeous Hindu wedding in Salt Lake City, Utah was nearly one year in the making. Their wedding festivities appeared not once but twice on the cover of the Salt Lake Tribune, which called their celebration “a wedding for the ages” and “a fairy tale event, involving hundreds of people from all over the globe.” With the vibrant color and beautiful splendor of Avni and Abhishek’s opulent Hindu wedding also came deep spiritual meaning, strong bonds of family, and tender emotion, felt throughout the couples’ grah shanti, mehndi, sangeet, wedding ceremony and reception.

The events brought Abhishek’s Houston native Dhingra family to the Patel family’s local Salt Lake City; to the Grand America Hotel, which played host to the festivities after several transformations by Remmal Kamsadkar‘s Orlando based Occasions by Shangri-La, under the coordination of the team at Kiscubed Events. Utah Governor Gary Herbert proclaimed Avni and Abhishek’s wedding day, “a day of celebration across the state of Utah,” and it’s no surprise, since their wedding was said to be “one of Utah’s most elaborate and expensive wedding celebrations ever.” But the elaborate celebration was not the sole motivation for all the attention: the kindness, generosity and care exuded by the Patel family patriarch, Mr. Dinesh Patel, along with his entire family, including Avni, can be felt in their presence immediately; it’s no surprise they’re as well liked and respected. Their new extended Dhingra family also exudes unparalleled warmth, and the rare affection and soft-hearted nature of Abhishek’s personality was one we became infected by. We’re lucky to have shared such a special moment in their lives and honored to have captured all the incredible moments of the joining of these two amazing families!

  5. We’ve been part of quite a few big surprises over the years, but few as dramatic as the surprise Tina and Pavan planned for family and friends in attendance of their stunning wedding reception at the Ritz-Carlton New Orleans in the heart of the French Quarter. Although Tina and Pavan chose not to have a professional filmmaker capture their beautiful South Asian wedding ceremony earlier in the year, they set out to discover the very best event filmmakers in the industry to commemorate their extravagant reception in the most stunning way possible just a few months later. The evening was filled with many great highlights, from live music by Bollywood Strings, to incredible floral arrangements by Elegant Affairs, and a sensational light display setup by The Road Show. Tina and Pavan’s big surprise to all in attendance was by far the most dramatic moment of the evening, which arrived in the form of a live musical performance by pop superstar Jay Sean, who performed a live set of all his greatest hits as an unforgettable kick-off to this dazzling celebration.
