It’s been quite an amazing journey with Komal and Shalin, beginning on the 50 yard line of M&T Bank Stadium for their must-see Baltimore Ravens Surprise Engagement (vimeo.com/126920135), to the beaches of Laguna Niguel for their incredible four-day destination wedding in Southern California.
Komal and Shalin’s wedding celebration began with a gorgeous pastel-hued mehndi overlooking the pacific ocean from the cliffs at Montage Resort. Friends and family from all over the world were welcomed by a breathtaking sunset on the California coastline before a fun moonlit show of performances and dancing. The following day the couple were married in a grand outdoor Hindu ceremony in the opulent courtyard at St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort, kicked off with an exciting baraat by Shalin’s family.
Not to be outdone by Komal’s engagement surprise, Shalin had a touching pre-wedding surprise of his own planned for Komal, a beautiful album filled with special memories, along with a heartfelt letter, which he presented to his beautiful bride just before their ceremony. Komal’s touching reaction goes to show the true love between this amazing couple! The newlyweds hosted a star-studded sangeet with Bollywood singer Aditya Narayan, who flew in from India to perform throughout the evening. The week of festivities would culminate in the chic candlelit ambiance of a twilight reception in the St. Regis Grand Ballroom the following night, highlighted by speeches and a memorable flash-mob style first dance.
We can’t thank Komal and Shalin enough for not only allowing us to capture such a special moment in their lives, but for the opportunity to get to know their wonderful parents and siblings over their multiple events and planning process. The kind hearts and true love between these two is palpable in their presence and we wish them nothing but the best in their journey ahead.

“Before man finds love, he is lost.” What reads like part of an ancient Hindu proverb spoken beautifully by Pandit Satish Kumar, was in fact part of Avni and Abhishek’s original concept created exclusively by Pacific Pictures for their stunning same-day-edit, featuring a pre-wedding concept shoot at the awe-inspiring Bonneville salt flats and a one-of-a-kind vidaai in a hot air balloon. Avni and Abhishek’s gorgeous Hindu wedding in Salt Lake City, Utah was nearly one year in the making. Their wedding festivities appeared not once but twice on the cover of the Salt Lake Tribune, which called their celebration “a wedding for the ages” and “a fairy tale event, involving hundreds of people from all over the globe.”
With the vibrant color and beautiful splendor of Avni and Abhishek’s opulent Indian wedding also came deep spiritual meaning, strong bonds of family, and tender emotion, felt throughout the couples’ grah shanti, mehndi, sangeet, wedding ceremony and reception. The events brought Abhishek’s Houston native Dhingra family to the Grand America Hotel, which played host to the festivities after several transformations by Remmal Kamsadkar‘s Orlando based Occasions by Shangri-La, under the coordination of the team at Kis Cubed Events. Utah Governor Gary Herbert proclaimed Avni and Abhishek’s wedding day, “a day of celebration across the state of Utah,” and it’s no surprise, since their wedding was said to be “one of Utah’s most elaborate and expensive wedding celebrations ever.”
The elaborate celebration was not the sole motivation for all the attention. The generosity and care exuded by the Patel family can be felt in their presence immediately. Their newly extended Dhingra family also exudes unparalleled warmth and kindness. We’re pleased to have been part of such a momentous occasion and honored to have captured all the incredible memories for these two amazing families.

“A paradise you have found, but it too has found you.” The word paradise often evokes distinct pastoral imagery of a lush Eden celebrated in pop culture by countless artists through time. The concept of such a place brings an immediate feeling of warmth and peace. But perhaps paradise is more than a place.
The paradise found by Bansi and Edward first took the form of St. Lucia, a breathtaking tropical island in the Caribbean. Their decision to elope wasn’t an easy one. Bringing together all of their friends and family was a big reason they originally planned for a traditional wedding in Philadelphia. When a member of Edward’s family fell ill, postponement seemed the only answer. Amid the uncertainty, the couple decided to escape on a short vacation. The two arrived in St. Lucia where they found a surreal natural beauty unlike any other.
With the blessing of their families, the couple realized there would be no better way to bring the sights and sounds of a dream wedding in paradise back home then capturing it all in a film that would premiere at a surprise reception a few short months later. To all their friends and family in attendance, Bansi and Edward unveiled their surprise elopement. The memories they brought back would last a lifetime, as would the small piece of themselves they left behind. The journey helped them realize that the paradise they found wasn’t a place at all, it was the true love they share for one another.
The four day shoot with no assistants or second shooters was definitely a challenge. We’re especially grateful to Bansi and Edward, who gave us amazing creative control over all aspects of the creation of this film, from the concept, to the locations, to the various looks created in collaboration with Susmita Patel of Style by Susmita, to the words spoken reverently throughout the film by Mr. Michael Aubertin, which were scripted exclusively by Pacific Pictures.# vimeo.com/105519201 Uploaded
Depeka and Robin came to our team as long-time fans of our work and with a love of all things Bollywood. After a twelve-year friendship, Robin’s elaborate proposal even involved screening their favorite movie, “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.” Although having settled in New York, Depeka and her family spent months searching for the perfect destination to host their wedding weekend festivities, in a celebration that brought together family and friends from all over the world. When they narrowed their search to South Florida, Depeka’s dream of combining her love of the beach with elements of a royal Hindu wedding held in a beautiful palace were slowly realized. The first time she saw The Breakers in Palm Beach, Depeka knew she had found her palace by the sea. Depeka and Robin’s sentimental nature and love of Bollywood cinema inspired their e-session, which our team combined with their same-day-edit, screened to all in attendance the night of their reception.# vimeo.com/48308599 Uploaded
Ansu and Karan's gorgeous South Asian wedding celebration in New York was filled with fun, love, and lots of emotion, among the many tender and dramatic moments we were honored to commemorate in their film. The extravagant four-day celebration hosted in the heart of Manhattan was kicked off with a gorgeous sangeet at Cipriani, bringing Bollywood dance, henna artists and a bangles bazaar to the buzz of the financial district.
Ansu & Karan's colorful Hindu wedding at the historic Waldorf Astoria was nothing short of spectacular. What better way for Karan to make an entrance into the New York marquee hotel then by turning heads and stopping traffic with a grand baraat down Park Avenue! With not only a horse drawn carriage, but a classic Shelby Cobra in tow. The moonlit-indigo themed hues rising up across the ultra high ceilings of Waldorf Astoria's grand ballroom created the perfect setting to culminate Ansu & Karan's beautiful events at their reception, and it was a pleasure taking part in this celebration for two wonderful families.
