Welcome to the Resource Page for the One Health Project, 'Pathogens, Parks and People', based in Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park in KwaZulu-Natal, coordinated by Claire Geoghegan (Mammal Research Institute, Department of Zoology and Entomology, University of Pretoria) and Skhumbuzo Mdletshe.

Here you will find a video record of public health meetings we conducted in communities near Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park in March 2013. Each film tackles an aspect of public health that was identified as a potential risk for zoonotic disease transmission between wildlife, livestock and people in these areas. Topics include how to improve agricultural practices, milk hygiene and household consumption preferences to minimise disease risk in low income and remote farming areas.

These videos are the culmination of 7 year project that has looked at zoonotic disease in wildlife, livestock and human populations, and specifically a 1 year NIH funded project to assess disease risks at household level.

The public health meetings were presented in the local language (Zulu) and contain English subtitles. We have also included the videos projected at these meetings in the album 'Public Health Videos', for use by public health professionals and interested parties.

Many thanks, and we look forward to your feedback.
