Here in Chattanooga, Tennessee, we're building a scene for old timey Swing and Lindy Hop era dances. These videos were filmed by Byron, one of our regular dancers, on his cellphone. He took some excellent footage of both our weekly Thursday events as well as our last Saturday dance at Create Here.
They may not be hi-fidelity in today's world of high definition, but the grainy quality to the video gives it that classic vintage feel of scratchy vinyl, toe tapping two-tone shoes and late night rock-em sock-em dance till you drop-em underground jazz clubs.
It was the 4th of July. I did not have my video camera. All I had was a Palm Pre cell phone, but funny stuff was happening. I did what I had to, clicking a photo every few seconds. What resulted: the best time lapse video ever!
The Lula Lake Land Trust was established to preserve the Rock Creek watershed located atop Lookout Mountain, Georgia, just south of Chattanooga, Tennessee. It's a beautiful park with several trails and two major waterfalls. Currently it's open two Saturdays out of the month, but plans are in the works to increase the park's hours.
This video was filmed during late January, 2009. The stabilization feature on my Sony CX7 shows its ineffectiveness in this film. I had a tripod in my backpack which I wish I had used.

Special thanks goes to Scott and Anne, two friends of mine you'll see throughout the video.
I originally saw this band in New York City at a little place called The Living Room. I brought back some CDs and played them for my friend Carly who instantly fell in love with them. She dragged me to a concert in Nashville and convinced the band to come play here in Chattanooga and then convinced the owner of her favorite bar to book them.
The following song was filmed with their permission when they played at JJ's Bohemia in March of 2009 and features the band Winterpills. This is an amazing group with beautiful guitar and vocals. Enjoy.
