1. This is a different filming from "Baking In, 2013" where the focus is just on the interaction and conversation of the feet and the material.

  2. I combined ten parts cornstarch to one part water (about 65 lbs of cornstarch & 6.5 lbs water) to create this quicksand-simulating fluid, that I then danced/moved in, attempting to find my balance and find my way through responding to this lively material.
I built a "my size" clear polyacrylic box in which to contain the liquid and to challenge the physical engagement even more.

  3. This performance piece works to explore and expose my internal rhythmic stutter and my reaction to a personal tendency to squint.

  4. Many (most) people in my family have some sort of tic or odd breathing pattern. I remember, as a little girl, being unable to inhale while Barney was on screen, and finally being able to once Baby Bop or someone more appealing was on screen. My blink tally had to always be perfectly equal, as did my nostril opening and the ratio of inhale to exhale levels.
In this performance piece, I attempt to let all my tics out by building up that internal anxiety for myself and try not to repress them as I have taught myself to over the years. I wish to fully explore the truth of my compulsion.

My love of fabrication juxtaposed with the reaction to the human body fuels about half of my work.
My interest in our cognitive patterns and puzzles [and cognitive neurology] fuels about half of my work.
