1. This is the final color grade and cinema level finish on my little short shot on Red's new Epic Dragon camera. We screened it in 4K in Hollywood earlier today and it looked fantastic on the big screen. I'd like to share that version here, although not the 4K one.

The big difference between this version and the previous version posted here:
    vimeo.com/76185380
Is that this is a full finished color grade made for delivery. I wanted to show both "out of the can" and finished versions of this particular piece.

There is also a UHD4K resolution one up on Youtube now:
    youtube.com/watch?v=xyIAV5YVjA4

I invite you to watch the higher quality version below as even at this 1080p resolution you can see how the web re-compression destroys subtle detail.

If you'd like to see a higher quality 3.8GB 1080p ProRes 422 version:

  4. I took a brief trip down to East Jesus with my Red Scarlet X to visit friends and to pay my respects to the late Charles Russell; a brilliant man and a friend to many.

East Jesus is an experimental, habitable art compound located in the famous Slab City of Niland, CA. It is a creation in progress originally built by Charles Russell and his friends. We feature a sculpture garden, art cars, Walter the 35 degree bus, as well as a selective residency program for artists and sustainability experts.

Charles passed away in 2011 and East Jesus is currently being maintained by his friends. To learn more about East Jesus check out:

    eastjesus.org

There's much to see and do in East Jesus. It's a great place to get away from the city and sit around a nice campfire with some good folks. The Salton Sea is just a hop, skip, and a jump away. Worth the trip in you're in LA.

Charles is missed by many and it's somehow fitting to wrap these East Jesus visuals within the serene sounds of Nine Inch Nail's Ghosts 28 IV. The music is licensed through Creative Commons and used with permission.
