1. The past year has been full of incredible travels around the globe to the most amazing places on earth. We saw an mind-blowing volcanic eruption in Chile, hiked to frozen mountain lakes in Patagonia, traveled through Norway watching the northern lights and the shot on epic mountain peaks in the majestic Italian Alps, the Dolomites.
Together with the footage from my trip to New Zealand in 2014 I am proud to show you the best Timestorm Films has to offer.

  2. I have taken quite a long hiatus from creating timelapse films. My last full video was released over a year ago. Recently I have gained some inspiration to start working on new films both in timelapse and aerial. This little teaser video includes some of my favorite shots from 2014 and 2015. Some of which were shot on my roadtrip stormchasing.

    Locations in order:
    Santa Barbara, California
    Great Plains, Oklahoma
    Amarillo, Texas
    Death Valley, California
    Great Plains, Eastern Colorado
    Yosemite National Park, California
    Santa Ynez, California
    Monument Valley, Arizona Utah
    Mono Lake, California
    San Diego, California
    Great Plains, Eastern Colorado
    Alabama Hills, California

I am super excited to be back at it again and I hope you all enjoy this quick timelapse short.

  3. All the traveling and hunting for shots we timelapse shooters do. Assembling a video is a form of catharsis and a way to purge our selves for new adventures and reimagining places we have visited many times before and will continue to visit in the future. Its a way for us to travel into the past as some locations are always changing and some don't exist anymore.

These timelapse sequences were shot on a couple of Nikon D810 DSLRs using Nikon and Ziess lenses. The place that I was referring to as not existing anymore was the CARMA array that use to be located in the White Mountains. They lost their funding so the radio telescopes lost their home. It was something very sad to hear as it was one of my favorite places to go that was open to the public and the people working there were nice enough to let myself and others shoot timelapse there over the years. Some of the other locations in the video range from LA to NY, the Eastern Sierras, Utah and Arizona.

Banda sonora: Thomas Bergersen. Remember Me

When you actually do what you like, matters little, the lost hours of sleep, the nights of cold and loneliness, the starts, the moments in which you are looking for a sequence and the search result is not because mother nature does not on our side, or for other reasons. It has been 5 months of thousands of photographs, looking for settings and locations, some sequences with more than one attempt, but the illusion not diminished nor a single second.
The illusion of show the island where I was born, its skies and wonderful landscapes, have made me believe from the outset in this project.
But what I am most proud is undoubtedly the complicity of my family, which has been possible as a result of this project. It is a real pride to work on this project together with my daughters and wife. Unlike the first timelapse, the season has changed and you can see other things that were not in the previous work. The landscapes of the island, and what we see in the sky changes according to the month of the year.

  5. "Awake" has been a passion project of mine since 2013.

I could write a novel outlining my experiences while shooting this film but I won't subject everyone to that. So to keep it "short", these have been some of the best, worst and most important parts of my life for the last four years. I've made lifelong friendships, seen more than I ever thought existed and have had more bad luck than I knew was possible. I'm not the same person I was when I left Michigan (I'm three years older than that person actually)

Music: If Stars Could Speak - Alexandr Fullin

Want some stats? Everyone likes stats.

"Awake" is comprised of 6,870 photographs which were selected out of roughly 50,000 photographs from two main cameras of which one is now on its deathbed. RIP

    Software Used:
    Adobe Creative Cloud
    Davinci Resolve

    Shot with:
Canon 7D, Sony A6300, and a few shots from the Canon 5d mrk III and Canon 6D
    Tokina 11-16mm, Sigma 30mm, Sigma 85mm, Canon 16-35mm
