  1. This is a short film created by the ¡CityArts! Youth Council. The students made this film because they wanted to demonstrate how important their after school program is to them (or as one young artist called it, "my home where I cannot sleep"). They said they wanted to share this video with politicians, foundations, the citizens of Providence, Ellen Degeneres (of course) and the rest of the world!

The Youth Council is a group of ¡CityArts! youth that meets after classes to work on making ¡CityArts! a better place. We do this by working on projects, having discussions and talking with other ¡CityArts! youth, teachers and staff. In order to create this film the group first discussed what its purpose would be; we talked about fundraising and spreading awareness. The students then created interview questions and decided on the format of the film. Finally they interviewed and filmed one another, their fellow young artists, teaching artists and other ¡CityArts! staff.

This is only version 1 of the video! There will be more to come!
