It has been a while since my last Launchpad Mashup sessions. Been gigging a lot lately and have just secured a residency in my home City, not had much time to work on my routines for my channel. So I am excited to get this new routine out for you as I have been working on it for a good bit. I have already been testing out the various new elements in the club!

My finger drumming is done on an AKAI LPD8 and the sounds are triggered from Reason 7. The synth is also triggered in Reason 7 with my Oxygen25 as the controller. My synth sound a designed from scratch in Reason.

The main body of the mashup is on my Launchpad although I have resampled certain sections while in Ableton in order to add effects and join sections up, parts that proved impossible to play live in any meaningful way!

As always I pick tracks not just for key relevance but because I genuinly love these tracks. Firstly AndDrop! with Like We Always Do. A Deep House track that has a very Dubstep feel to it, dark yet perfect for the dancefloor. I only use small sections of this track but even then its Dubstep roots shine through.

Second up I chose the latest track by KSHMR and Shaun Frank. What a belter this is, the vocals alone by Delany are just sublime and the drop is one of the best Future House drops Iv heard in a good while.

I then move into Feel Good by Robin Thicke (Oliver Heldens remix). Loved this remix for a long time. Heldens has perfectly melded Robins effortless vocals with his up beat take on the Future House sound.

Probably one of my favourite tracks. This is the original Five Hours by Deorro. I love this track as it has one of the best intros ever, just listen to that lead, absolutely sublime. Lets not forget the bass line either, holding the entire track together providing a counterpoint to the simple yet beatifully crafted lead. Finally add the vocal sample, no lyrics just an "ohh" sound, again simple and beyond effective. This track is fantastic, airy and light yet still absolutely perfect for the club.

As I approach the end of my routine I go into Make The World Go Round by Sandy B (Deep Dish Edit), Iv used this in other parts of my live set because I love the track that much, its just a fun track that gets folks dancing every time.

Finally I sample off AVICII's Hey Brother. Iconic, everyone knows it and why not. Its a fantastic track that shows us all what a good pop track should be all about!

Check out my regular videos as I mash, remix and perform my creations. Taking my music from the world of the charts, the depths of Techno and even into the unkown with artist tracks you may not know yet. All you need to do is push the button :-)

"Controllerism is the art and practice of using musical software controllers, e.g. MIDI, Open Sound Control (OSC), joystick, etc., to build upon, mix, scratch, remix, effect, modify, or otherwise create music, usually by a Digital DJ or Live PA performer, often called a "controllerist". Controllerism is also a nod to traditional musicianship and instrumental-ism paired with modern computer sequencing software such as Ableton Live and Native Instruments Traktor. However a working knowledge of scales and chords is not necessarily required as the performers typically focus their efforts more on sequencing events, software effect and instrument manipulations using buttons, knobs, faders, keys, foot switches and pedals than on instrumental notes played in real time.
