The vast majority of people in South Sudan have no access to national communications. With poor distribution of print and electronic information and extreme rates of illiteracy, uniting a country around principles of unity, religious tolerance, and democracy, etc. is difficult.
We are building a network of FM radio stations and relay stations in South Sudan, reaching every person, 10.3 million people, in the next 3 years.
We have built a Radio Station in Yei, South Sudan, with a frequency of 88.4 growing to the Northwest towards the Capital Juba. In the next 4 months we will have relay station South and Northwest of Yei. Moving Northwest towards Lainya County where we have been granted land by both the national and local government.
We plan to broadcast in every state in South Sudan, which we have been promised by the government. The relay station will connect each Radio Station. Each Radio Station will be in major cities and have indigenes programming from their communities for their communities and will be vital communications centers, which will include programming, devoted to religious tolerance, conflict resolution, forgiveness, mediation and reconciliation.
