Probably the smallest and lightest HD aerial platform! This little 50cm wingspan/140gr EDF-powered one packs a heavily modified Sony Webbie HD camera, video TX for FPV, OSD with GPS and 433MHz R/C control!
Testing the FCO3 and transmitter/receiver in flight. Note some important problematic points for FPV:
- OSD can't be deactivated
- Video out framerate is strongly reduced while recording (very uncomfortable in typical FPV use)
- Antenna connectors are RP-SMA, unlike 99% of common video equipment that uses SMA
- Video out Jack cable isn't supplied and uses a relatively rare pinout (Archos compatible)
- Video out is NTSC only
- Pan-tilt moves by stuttering steps, not continuously, and doesn't allow looking sideways and downwards at the same time
Video quality is similar to the FCO2, possibly more blurry. Brightness adjusts in big steps.
In one line: Not recommended for FPV, especially with a price point once all accessories are counted that isn't much different to a common renowned equipment set.
OK as an aerial camera, LCD can be used for placement/aiming, video can be reviewed after flight, RF link can be used to view live image for fun, but expensive for that limited use and relatively low output quality.
