This is a simple set of shots of my son out in the garage. But damn, I think it looks beautiful. Like Art says in his article (see link below) I have had a hard time finding a preset picture profile in the C300 that I really like. I almost always shoot canon Log (I actually use the Cinema profile with sharpness to -10). I'm able to get great looks, but spend a lot of time grading that really shouldn't be necessary for much of my work. I almost never shoot with tungsten lights. I have become very accustomed to my Alzo PAN-L lights (think KinoFlo Diva with daylight tubes). I love the soft lihgt I get out of them, and the C300 white balances nicely to them. Have have found white balance on the C300 with standard picture profiles (meaning the ones that come from Canon in the camera) to be a bit dicey. But I loaded up his presets (one for daylight and one for tungsten) and all of a sudden I see something so much nicer than anything I have shot with any of the looks that came with the camera. I have never shot with an Alexa, and the only images I have really seen from it have been heavily graded (think Skyfall.) But I love this look. The highlight roll-off is really great, the colors look natural. The only grade I applied was to subtly adjust exposure on a few shots, and the pull back a touch of the red (which this camera notoriously adds to much of, in my opinion.) Next I will try the daylight Alexa profile he created, but I think I have found my new goto look for the C300.

Shot under soft white CFL household bulbs with the C300, the 24-105 F/4 L lens and Art Adams tungsten Alexa picture profile. ISO set between 3200 and 6400.

Here's Art article on how he created the profile:
