My yet unfinished feature film, 'The Grind' (imdb.com/title/tt1509269/) includes a shot using a 12-inch long Humvee model in this establishing shot. I utilized the widest lens setting at f/11 for deep focus to create a forced perspective once the model was properly positioned. The desert location is the Imperial Sand Dunes in California. This is the same location as used in Return of the Jedi. desertusa.com/sandhills/du_sh_star.html The Humvee was 2 feet from the camera and the actors 40 feet away.

  3. A woman visits a flea market and discovers the entrance to a secret place.

This film was an entry into the "Story Beyond the Still" contest. Watch the 1st chapter here - vimeo.com/8595246

My wife and I filmed this short using her Canon 5D Mark II, various prime lenses, a glidecam, and mostly natural light. Thanks to David Allen for helping out on set, Sara Remington for lending us the bottle, Richard Peterson for his hospitality, and Urban Ore for the awesome location. Sound design mixed from material found on freesound.org. SFX involved photographing our apartment's trash chute and compositing it with After Effects.
