On September 1, 2004 some friends of mine helped me pull off a very special evening with the love of my life Ines Velasquez-McBryde.
Before I popped the question, I had Ines open a gift which was two emails between her dad and me that I had framed. In the email to her dad who lived in South Carolina at that time, I asked for his permission to marry his daughter. This email exchange is hanging in our living room today.
This video was a 1st anniversary gift from our friend Gordon which is why it also has some wedding photos at the end.
On October 27th, 2009, Arlton Lowry gave a presentation at the Refresh Central Arkansas gathering on Elgg, an open-source social networking and social publishing platform. If you are not familiar w/ Elgg, here’s a little information from their website:
Elgg, started in 2004, is an open source social engine which powers all kinds of social environments – from education to business and sports such as rugby. If you are looking to create your own social application or want to build and run a site for your organisation, Elgg is a great choice as it provides the building blocks you will need.
