Tale of a Toxic Nation is the story of a nation rich in resources but weak in political influence. The Navajo Reservation has been left with over 500 abandoned uranium mines, toxic surroundings and an impossible clean up. The story has never been more relevant under an administration threatening to restart uranium mining in the area.
Premiering on Adult Swim and described by Rolling Stone as "hellish and psychedelic", this eye-popping music video finds a house cat navigating a demonic catacomb filled with magic milk gnomes, dark lord bullfrogs and three-headed rat kings. Hey Beautiful Jerk co-produced, provided creative direction and post production for Mastodon's epic, 6 minute music video "Asleep in the Deep". This video co-directed and conceptualized by Mastodon cover artist Skinner and special fx master Shane Morton (Too Many Cooks).

This piece delves into the inception, development process, and shows the production test footage of the first ever real-time, in-camera, real-light, real-lens, perspective-adapting, mixed-reality, rear-screen, compositing technique.
