It has been more than 20 years since Rick and Brian road a bicycle and what better way to discover the exhausting and dangerous sport of single track mountain biking than with some of the best riders in Colorado. They learn on the aggressive and beautiful terrain of the Kokopelli trails just outside of Fruita, Colorado. The Higgins brothers discover this is one sport that isn't all downhill.
At the encouragement of their mother, Rick and Brian explore their Wyoming cowboy roots by learning the dangerous sport of bull riding from some of the most seasoned riders in Colorado. With a little training and a lot of guts, the Higgins brothers ride in their first rodeo in their hometown of Aurora, Colorado.
What do you get when you combine the mountain sports of skiing and snow boarding on frozen lake and an extreme sport usually reserved for the ocean, like kite boarding? You get snowkiting!! Snow kiting adventurers can use kites to travel great distances and sports enthusiasts push the boundaries of freestyle, big air, speed and back country exploration by harnessing the unpredictable mountain drafts. Our first Rocky Mountain Experience finds Rick and Brian in very unfamiliar territory. While Rick is an avid skier and Brian was once a World ranked snowboarder, neither has ever tried to do double duty while harnessed to and steering a kite. Not only are they novices but they must train to compete in front of rowdy spectators at the Dillon Snow Kite Open on Dillon Reservoir in Summit County Colorado.
