Part Two of a feature-length slideshow illustrating a fascinating, long-buried 1994 radio interview by David Mellor with Luciano Pavarotti, mainly about the tenors who inspired him. To name those who have a record played in this second part, these include: Jussi Bjorling, Alfredo Kraus, Jan Peerce and Carlo Bergonzi. Pavarotti goes on to talk about his experience of two great conductors of opera: Tulio Serafin and Herbert von Karajan.
The project arose out of the digitization during 2013 of my old tape cassette collection. I thought the interview, so obscure as to be virtually ungooglable, too noteworthy to be lost to posterity. While cleaning it up with a view to making it publicly available I thought I might add some images by way of illustration. I believe this to be an eminently fair use (in the moral sense at least) of valuable material which would otherwise not see the light of day. No money will be made, though I hope to generate some traffic for my music site http://playlistasartform.com/
