This Channel is a collection of examples by Ruba Jurdi, co-founder of Connexxions Media & Marketing and Rally Royale. Ruba is Media & Marketing Director specialising UK and Middle East.

Her media career started in Kuwait during the second Gulf War when the ABC identified her natural gift for communication as well as her unflinching preparedness to put herself into tough places to feed her desire to understand the contradictions and power of media. During the second gulf war, Ruba travelled into conflict zones such as Basra, where she gained raw experience of big stories and an understanding of the power of media.

As location manager, interpreter and presenter, Ruba has worked closely with international broadcast TV networks and production companies such as ABC, BBC, KTV, SBS, London Films, Matavichy and Monster TV Productions. Following her Gulf War experience, Ruba joined the BBC World Service Trust to assist in establishing Al Mirbad, an independent Radio and TV station in Basra.

After learning the ropes in the BBC, she chose to set up her own consultancy. Ruba worked on a number of campaigns producing broadcast quality documentaries, event coverage, TV reportage, presenting, and photography for clients like the Middle Eastern Association, Voyages to Antiquity, Kuwait Autism Center, SBS Australia and the Arabic British Chamber of Commerce.

In 2012, Ruba was appointed Director responsible for Strategy and Marketing for BASIRA (British Arabic Supporting Integration Recognition and Awareness). BASIRA is a platform for raising awareness on human rights issues through film and open forums.

Ruba has a knack for recognising and putting together talented crews to provide focus and client based direction. She is a warm and enthusiastic team player, who always appreciates the opportunity to achieve the objectives of the task. These natural gifts make her an ideal choice for assignments in the fields of media liaison, production and fixing, cultural research, sourcing talent and connecting international (especially the Middle East and UK) projects together.

She enjoys travel, and is available to work anywhere in the world at short notice where she knows she can add value. Ruba is frequently in the Middle East where she works with customers and colleagues from her bases in both Kuwait and Dubai.
