First Vietnamese Funk Music Video , from First Vietnamese Funk Band
Get the Groove - a video clip inspired by movement and desire, and of course the funky beats of 6789, Việt Nam's upcoming funk/rock/reggae fusion group. One soulful team of creative minds, one city, one trip to the seashore, and one clip dedicated to the efforts of all the artists working to shape an original, unique movement of talent and vision in modern Việt Nam. This video is about love - searching, finding, losing and living. The inner demons that chase us all, the warmth and happiness we find with friends and the power of young people working together in Việt Nam to build a new art/music scene. The result of an international collaborative effort between a German filmmaker and an American anthropologist, inspired by the music of a group hailing from Vietnam, China and the Philippines. Striving to capture the spirit and soul of Hồ Chí Minh City and the contemporary culture of Việt Nam, this video is a story of struggle, failure and hard-won success. A squid-like undulation of colors and images meant to portray the beauty, people, experience and one-of-a-kind vibe of the growing city of Sài Gòn and its neighboring seaside towns. Hardship and joy, loss and discovery, and, in the end, the magic of a kiss.

Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) is an amazing up and coming city. This time lapse is a culmination of 10,000 RAW images and multiple shoots capturing some of the cities relentless energy and pace of change.
Everyone who has visited Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam knows part of the magic (love it or hate it) is in the traffic. Ever since I first set foot in HCMC I have been captivated by the cities energy. Saigon is a city on the move unlike anything I have experienced before which I wanted to capture and share.
Thanks to everyone who helped with the film and thanks also to the numerous kind people who allowed me access to some amazing locations.
The Word HCMC magazine has published a Q&A interview with some background information on the project: http://tinyurl.com/88jp6vn

On December 2011, we spent our holidays in this beatiful Southeast Asia country. This is what Vietnam had to offer us to express itself. A ride through different spots from North to South, from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh. Sapa, Halong Bay, Da Lat, Nha Trang are some of the spots we've been exploring.
