SAUCE'D

In the second episode of SAUCE'D Season 1, NYC Chef Frank Prisinzano arrives in Verona, birthplace of Romeo & Juliet, home of the iconic ancient Arena, and host city of VinItaly, the world's largest wine fair. It's early evening as Frank meets up with a good friend who has just arrived from New York for the wine show. Frank and Camilo take a leisurely passagiatta through the stone streets and piazze of Verona before the settle down for an aperitivo - the quintessential Italian past-time, other than people-watching! As Frank explains, Aperitivo is a magical time for regrouping with friends, digesting the day, and planning the evening's meal.

With a magical combination of brash and lyrical, this unpolished "downtown chef" dives in and opens up the heart of Italy with the unflinching romanticism of a classic New York Italian-American.

Frank Prisinzano grew up making pasta at his grandmother's kitchen table in Queens, NY. Now that very table is the premier seat at Frank, his first restaurant in the East Village.

Every year, Frank makes a sort of personal pilgrimage back to his ancestral stomping grounds, to refresh his Italian heritage, to rejuvenate his Italian menu, and rediscover the achingly beautiful people and land that created his family legacy.
