SAUCE'D

Wine is the soul of poetry… In this installment of SAUCE'D Season 1, Frank and his wine buddy, Camilo, roam the marble streets of Verona with one destination in mind - Antica Bottega del Vino - one of the most iconic restaurants in Italy. While Verona's center is mobbed with wine enthusiasts and producers during the days of VinItaly (episode 3, part 1 & 2), Frank and friends hunker down inside the enoteca- Mecca of Bottega. Known for it's infinite wine cellars and signature dishes such as Tartare di Cavallo (raw horsemeat) and Risotto all'Amarone (red wine risotto), the gang enjoys the scene as much as the gastronomy. Sit back, relax, and join the festa!

With a magical combination of brash and lyrical, this unpolished "downtown chef" dives in and opens up the heart of Italy with the unflinching romanticism of a classic New York Italian-American.

Frank Prisinzano grew up making pasta at his grandmother's kitchen table in Queens, NY. Now that very table is the premier seat at Frank, his first restaurant in the East Village.

Every year, Frank makes a sort of personal pilgrimage back to his ancestral stomping grounds, to refresh his Italian heritage, to rejuvenate his Italian menu, and rediscover the achingly beautiful people and land that created his family legacy.
