1. In September 2013, Mayo-born artist Niamh O’Malley returned to her home county for a unique exhibition featuring recent examples of her work in five different venues around the Mayo region. The Linenhall Arts Centre developed a Visual Art programme for primary schools in conjunction with "Island", the video projection piece on show in the Linenhall's gallery. The children participating viewed the piece and engaged in discussion about it. They then explored background and foreground in moving images, in a hands on film making workshop. During the workshop they recreated the effect of panning a camera, using a still camera with moving drawings. The exercise was designed to throw light on how foreground and background behave relative to one another from a moving viewpoint. This is the piece created during the workshop by St Angela's 5th Class (teacher Sarah Moran)
