Smarter Balanced ELA performance tasks require students to apply their knowledge and skills in comprehension, research, analysis, and written expression to respond to real-world problems. In this session we reviewed sample tasks and scoring rubrics, and discussed ways to design classroom instruction and assessment that supports and challenges students. Perspectives on implementation were shared by an experienced teacher-leader and facilitator.
