In this webinar, with Adam Ebrahim of Fresno County Office of Education and Leanne Raddatz, of Kern High School District, participants gain an overview of the Smarter Balanced Assessment system, placing special emphasis on how interim and formative assessments support teaching and learning and support secondary literacy development throughout the school year.

As a member of the Smarter Balanced Assessment consortium, the California Department of Education is able to provide all public educators in grades K-12 free access to the Digital Library. The Digital Library includes professional learning opportunities and resources for secondary teachers which are intended to support classroom-based formative assessment processes. Participants receive an overview of the Gate Keeping Criteria used to vet all resources submitted to the library by the State Network of Educators and resources available to support literacy development are highlighted.
