I designed this animation for use on my
My Independant Filming Group.
The animation was done in 3D Studio Max, as a 3D drawing with individual placeholders for the area of the film cells, then I assigned movie clips to the material texture of each placeholder plane.
The Image of the film, i found 3 cells on google, and stitched them together in photoshop.
A little bit of lighting to create a backwash effect, and enclosed the filming area with a cone, so that there was a wall around the animation for the lighting to reach.
It took about 8 hours from start to finish, and is a good learning process for 3DS Max
It took 2 hours to render a 720p HD file, uncompressed quality and was 6.8GB in size. I then used MpegStreamClip to recompress it down to a Quicktime H264 16mb, within 2 minutes.
Each of the clips is an excerpt from some thing I have filmed over the last 9 months.
