Today’s individual and family donors face a significant challenge: how can they maximize the positive results of their philanthropic giving? Aristotle’s quote still rings true today in a world full of problems: “To give away money is an easy matter and in any man's power. But to decide to whom to give it and how large and when, and for what purpose and how, is neither in every man's power nor an easy matter”. In this session, designed specifically for individual and family donors, participants explore two keys to generating broad-based outcomes, scale and impact. Why has it been so difficult in the sector to achieve these twin goals? How do we know when we are having impact? How do we design for impact and scale? In this session participants delve into these and other questions with leading experts and peer small group discussions. A panel of peer philanthropists also share their experiences in creating measurable, high-impact initiatives that are scaling to achieve broad impact. Participants leave the session with new peer relationships, tangible knowledge that can help them in their philanthropy, and opportunities to take action.
