For IMERSA 2013 at Gates planetarium in Denver, CO we did a live 3D audio performance with visuals from Ghost Pixel. The computer on stage right is controlling all the clips and mixing with Ableton Live. The stage left computer is controlling the 3D panning and navigation with Mas/MSP. Some panning an parameters were controlled through OSC on an iPad that was passed around the audience. Visuals were controlled from behind the audience, projected from 6 projectors onto the full hemispherical dome.
This shows a 5.1 surround project being remapped in 3D to a dome (planetarium). The surround mix is piped from Nuendo via Soundflower into Max/MSP. The first Max patch remaps the 5.1 to 15.1, placing sound sources wherever. The second patch performs convolution loudspeaker correction, bass management, EQ, gain adjustment and bypass.
