Saturday Morning Success TV Talk Show

Catherine Garceau is not only a Olympian, Author, Speaker & EFT Practicioner, but she is also a mermaid. I guess you will just have to watch this incredible episode to find out all of Catherine's secrets.

Jennifer Sinclair and Denis Nurmela sat down with Catherine in studio to find out what motivates her to help others and to find out what her secret to begin successful is. This is a great episode!

In 2001, after winning an Olympic Medal (in Sydney in synchronized swimming), She lived her worst lie. As team captain of the Canadian National team, She created all sorts of inspiring exercises for the team. She showed up at practice, stoic, strong, without one mention of her pain, eating disorders, unexplainable sadness, and anxiety. After training, in the car, and back home, she numbed out by binging for hours on food. Catherine had no idea what her body needed. And what her body loved.

Fast forward to 2006. She had retired from competitive synchro, graduated from University of Toronto, been performing in the aquatic shows of Las Vegas (Cirque du Soleil type) for 2 years, and still, felt unfulfilled.

That’s when the unexpected happened.

An altering day and night spent caught in the Red Rocks of Las Vegas birthed her mission to educate and inspire others. To take her own bad ‘body’ days as lessons of compassion and body wisdom. To move through her insatiable hunger over and over, enough to dismantle its shame. To gather insights and resources from experts on eating disorders, bodymind nutrition, and the psychology of eating, until it became second nature. Her self-healing adventure became about others too.

Her book, Swimming Out of Water was published by Morgan James in 2012 and its french version Nager Hors De L’Eau in 2013, by Dauphin Blanc, a French Canadian publisher. Being a voice for change and helping others gain more freedom in their relationship with food, body and mind, was both inspiring and scary. She felt a lot of pressure. "What if I wasn’t ready?", She thought. "What if I didn’t help them? What if I didn’t know enough? What if I got stressed and ate more than my hunger? Would I be a fraud?"

“You don’t have to be perfect to be wonderful” Bob Cooley, a resistance stretching expert and life mentor would tell her. So she passes this on to YOU : YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE PERFECT TO BE WONDERFUL!
