Why should I care about my words? We should care about our words because in them is the power of life and death.
The mouth of the wicked conceals violence (Prov.10:11)
The words of the reckless pierce like swords (Prov 12:18)
The lips of a scoundrel are like a scorching fire ( 16:27)
A gossip separates close friends (Prov 16:28)
The perverse tongue crushes the spirit (Prov 15:4)
Those who speak rashly will come to ruin (Prov 13:3)
Death... [is] in the power of the tongue ( Prov 18:21)
The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life (Prov.10:11)
The tongue of the wise brings healing (Prov. 12:18)
The teaching of the wise is a fountain of life, turning a person from the snare of death (Prov 13:14)
The soothing tongue is a tree of life (Prov. 15:4)
Those who gaurd their lips preserve their lives (Prov. 13:3)
Death and life are in the power of the tongue (Proverbs 18:21)
3 Lies we believe about Gossip:
1) If the person doesn't know, I should fill them in!
2) When I have a problem with someone, it helps me to talk about it!
3) Continuing to gossip won't hurt my relationships

Words of death are a disease. Treat them like one.
