  2. Throughout the show's second season, Fargo utilized the split screen as a consistent style in order to achieve several things. First, it was used as a transition from one shot to the next in order to show what two or more characters were doing at the same time in either the same or different locations.

    Second, it provided a way of showing a character's action through different shots and angles at the same time without having to go back and forth from one single shot on screen to another. In a way, this show was able to utilize an editing technique that has been used by several shows in the past decade such as 24, That 70s Show, and Burn Notice, to name a few, and hopefully more shows will do the same in the future.
