Welcome to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church!

In the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ, we welcome you to St. Mark’s. We especially welcome our guests who have joined us today. We pray that your soul will be strengthened by the good news about God’s grace, love, and forgiveness to us through his Son, Jesus Christ.

Our congregation also operates a Lutheran school for students in pre-Kindergarten through eighth grade. If you would like to learn more about our church or school, please contact one of our pastors, the principal, or another representative of our church or school. They would be happy to assist you.

* A staffed nursery is located in the very back of the church lobby. Volunteers are available during both services and the Bible study hour to care for children up through three years of age.

* Reserved seating for families with young children is available in the back three pews on both sides of the sanctuary. Please keep these pews reserved for families even if you have arrived late.

* Children’s activity sheets are also available on the shelf in the church lobby. Parents may pick up a copy for their young children to use during the service.

* Hearing assistance is available. Personal assistance devices are available for anyone who may have difficulty hearing the service. Please ask an usher if you would like to use one. In addition, the sanctuary is “looped” for those whose hearing aids can pick up the signal.

* Large print service booklets are available on the shelf along the side wall in the church lobby.

* Registration cards are given to all families and individuals along with this worship booklet as they enter the church. One side of the registration card is for members; the other side is for visitors. The cards are collected after the sermon during the offering, when they are handed in toward the center aisle. If time permits, please fill out your card prior to the start of the service. Visitors may also use this form to tell us about themselves or to make a request.

* Coffee is served between services in the church lobby or, weather permitting, outside in the rose garden. We invite everyone to join us for a time of fellowship between today’s services.

* Holy Communion will be celebrated in today’s service. The Bible teaches us that receiving the Lord’s Supper together is a public statement of our complete unity in faith. For this reason, we invite members of St. Mark’s and members of sister congregations in our church denomination, the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS), to participate in Holy Communion. If you haven’t yet had the opportunity to confess your unity of faith with us, but you would like to join us for the Lord’s Supper in the future, please speak with one of our pastors at your convenience, and they would be happy to begin the process of working toward a common confession of faith so that you can join us for the Lord’s Supper in the near future.

Worship Focus: The season of Lent has to last a while and come around every year if for no other reason than this, that it is so hard for us to fully grasp and appreciate the points that are made so strikingly in Lent. This Sunday we see God’s seriousness in Lent in this: Salvation and suffering go hand in hand—for Jesus and for us too!
