"Celebrating in song the deep meaning of Christmas for our every day lives."

As a child I remember spending the weeks before Christmas trying to figure out what I was getting for Christmas. I remember straining to listen in on my parents conversations through the cold air vent in the floor of my upstairs bedroom (it was an old farmhouse). I would search through the closets and look under the beds. In all those years I was never able to divine one single gift ahead of time. My parents were really good a keeping that secret!

The gifts that God gives at Christmas are not meant to be a secret (though God’s generosity is certainly surprising). In fact, these gifts are so well-known that God’s people have been singing about them for ages. Many of these songs have become very dear to us. They warm our hearts because they are so well-known and so closely associated with this happy time of the year.

Yet, because of their familiarity we can lose sight of the powerful truths the songs contain and the profound application they have to our lives. This Christmas we’ve put a playlist together of some of the greatest hits of Christmas. As we explore God’s Christmas gifts to us in these songs, we pray that Christmas will mean more to us that it ever has before.
