This video was produced for the non-profit organization Roots of American Music. The focus of the project was to teach inner-city Cleveland kids the history of Ohio transportation. What made the project unusual is that the history was taught through music and songwriting. The teaching artists used traditional roots music as well as rap music. The kids were encouraged to write personal raps about their family history.
After many weeks of preparing and writing the material, the kids were taken to a premiere Cleveland recording studio called AnteUp. There they got to experience and participate in a real life recording session. The incredible band Snarky Puppy provided all of the backing tracks.
