1. A new piece of equipment at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital is giving the gift of vision rehabilitation to patients. The Sanet Vision Integrator or SVI, is a high-tech, high-touch piece of equipment that’s useful for patients who have had visual changes due to a stroke or a traumatic brain injury. For one Omaha stroke survivor, it’s restoring his vision of recovery and life back home.

  2. At 52, Don Jenkins’ life took a major detour on October 16, 2015. He suffered a debilitating stroke during routine heart surgery. Jenkins is a man of faith and a father of six including four adopted siblings from the Ukraine. He spent five weeks in the ICU at a Topeka, Kansas hospital before traveling to Nebraska for the next stop on his road to recovery. With his wife at his side, a social media following and a “God’s Got This” attitude, Jenkins has made major strides since arriving at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital. On Wednesday, January 10, 2016, Don discharged from the hospital. Next steps? QLI in Omaha, Nebraska, for six to eight weeks of therapy before heading home.
