In 2010, Christine Tarantino and our friend Star helped our friend Adrian Montagano hang a show of his works at a gallery in South Deerfield, Massachusetts. This video is primarily of the hanging activity and also includes some random shots of the opening a week after the hanging.
In the summers of 2010 and 2012, Christine created these works on paper using daylily blossoms as her primary drawing instruments. Each day she would check our daylily patches for blossoms that had opened the day before and were now starting to wither. She worked very quickly and intensely, using several blossoms per work. She felt that these works were among the best things she had ever done. This video contains details from the full works, a video of which can be found here: vimeo.com/87401142.
The video and still photos in this production were shot by Christine Tarantino in November of 2008. Fresh lines had just been painted on Lockes Village Road in Wendell Massachusetts. Christine noticed the patterns made as leaves, twigs, and other roadside debris were painted over and then subsequently disturbed by passing vehicles. Some of the images in this video as well as a visual poem written in conjunction with the photos were posted by Christine on one of her blogs here:
"UNINTENDED Visual Poetry Series, images and text, photographs (unintended) Wendell street art and handwritten text, 2009
Created for Fluxus Visions, visual poetry publication project of Allan Revich, Canada"
