This was a short made in sophomore year for the SUNY Purchase Film Conservatory. Produced in the Spring of 2011, this was an exercise on genre building. I decided to build upon the audience's assumption of several cinema tropes and crafted a story with a clever twist at the end.
This film is a Junior thesis for SUNY Purchase Film Conservatory 2012. Produced in the Winter of 2012.
The implant of a brain chip allows for a man to experience life like never before: A new take on the invasiveness of modern advertising
Due to a stroke, Maxwell loses his sight. Now, a new experimental surgery developed by Babylon, a massive conglomerate company with reaches to every segment of the market, allows him to see again by implanting a brain chip. The new gadget is the prototype to a new “life-enhancing” interface that embeds information into real-time vision and causes Max to experience life as a whole new reality--but at the cost of losing his girlfriend and quite possibly, his mind.
This piece was directed and shot by Brad Barrett and produced by Kiegan Munn and Brad Barrett. This was their first major production at that time.
