Kevin Rudolf is a difficult musician to pin down: He makes rock music, but is signed to Birdman x Lil Wayne's hip hop-heavy Cash Money Records. He was born in New York, but has relocated to Miami. He's had multi-platinum selling singles (in "Let It Rock" featuring Lil Wayne and "I Made It" featuring Cash Money), but he's been quiet of late as he's focused on writing music for other artists like Keith Urban.
There are two things we know for sure about the chameleon musician, he's back with a new, full-length project dropping later this year and that makes us happy.
Mister Rudolf stopped by The Crosby Press studios recently to talk about that new project and what's he's been up to but before we drop that video, we wanted to give you a taste of Mister Rudolf's music. So, here's Mister Rudolf performing an acoustic rendition of "Heres To Us", the lead single from his new album.
Give it a listen, and then cop a download of the song via iTunes here. Stay tuned for our A Conversation With... Kevin Rudolf interview dropping on Monday of next week.
Claiming that Miami is better than New York because it has fewer Europeans kinda makes it sound like you've never been to Miami, but Kevin Rudolf has, and either way -- who are we to quibble with the 4x Platinum artist?
Besides (playfully) knocking NYC, Rudolf opened up about being the only rock act Birdman' Young Money Records (still!), and what it felt like to have "Let It Rock" go so hard on the charts. Here's a hint: it felt good. As a bonus, Mister Rudolf reveals -- for the first time ever! -- the colors of Birdman's and Lil Wayne's auras.
Mister Rudolf's third studio album drops this fall. Watch him perform the lead single off that project, "Heres To Us", in our studio here. Purchase the song via iTunes here.
