the dotmatrix project

Jim Avett, father to the Avett Brothers (Seth and Scott) and native of North Carolina plays live with Scott Manring (a guitarist that many revere) a song which they recorded together in 1973 and stowed away as life moved on.

Thirty years or more later, they rediscovered the demo and decided to revisit the song. The Avett Brothers included it on the album, Mignonette. Track 19. The dotmatrix project is a monthly free concert which is documented in a variety of manners. The audio is turned into a live album which is then sold on amie street.

Monkeywhale.com collaborated with dotmatrix project on 2 evenings, totaling 4 different bands. This is the 2nd. Both Monkeywhale.com and dotmatrixproject.com are independent Greensboro, NC based websites. Greensboro. A great little music town.
