    Summary and Guest Bio:

I'm glad to be back hosting my favorite boozy web series! I made 10 episodes of interviews, six of nicely produced link recommendations, and today I'm back to having good conversations with interesting guests.

For this episode, I was joined by Julia Cooke. Julia is the author of "The Other Side of Paradise: Life in the New Cuba." She is also a writer and essayist chronicling the lives of Central Americans who defy stereotype. She's lived in Havana, Mexico City, and now she's based in New York City, where she teaches writing at The New School.

  2. Josh Robert Thompson joined me for this episode of The Night Cap.

Josh is known best for voicing and puppeteering of Geoff Peterson, the dead skeleton robot sidekick on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. However, I'm excited to speak with him because his other projects have shown him to be more than the sum of Geoff's skeleton parts.

Josh is an accomplished comedian with viral hits featuring his impeccable celebrity impressions. His acting chops aren't anything to sneeze at -- he's starring in a new film called Nowhere Girl. His improv comedy is on display in the pilot for his sketch show WJRT-TV, and his thought provoking reflections can be found on his podcast Diving Myself Crazy.

Fall 2013, during a very rough time in my life, I started listening to Josh's podcast. In one of the episodes, he complimented my blog, which -- thanks to his inspiration -- began to catalog my rise from the depths of a depression and narrate my recent empowerment as a creative person and artist. Josh and his work mean a lot to me and I was so grateful to have him on the show.

Find more information about Josh at JRTvoices.com, and you can follow him @JoshRThompson on Twitter. Follow his new film @NowhereGirlFilm as it tours film festivals.

The Night Cap - "The Best, Buzzed Conversation Online - " is a web talk show hosted by Gordon Chaffin. In each episode, one guest or set of guests joins Gordon via webcam for a conversation about their work, what's in the news, and what makes them get out of bed each day.

The goal of the program is to facilitate an organic, interesting discussion which mimics conversations people have while sharing a drink – a night cap – at the end of the day.
