  2. The career of SPACE guest, Bond director John Glen.

John Glen is best known for his directing and editing work on eight James Bond films, from the 60s to the 80s. He has directed more Bond films than anyone else, which are For Your Eyes Only, Octopussy, A View to a Kill, The Living Daylights and Licence to Kill. During the 70s and the 60s, he worked as a second unit director on films and television shows such as The Italian Job, Man in a Suitcase, Superman: The Movie and The Wild Geese. John also was the editor of the Bond films On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, The Spy Who Loved Me and Moonraker. This legendary James Bond figure has certainly become a firm member of the so-called family associated with the hugely successful film franchise.

  3. The career of SPACE guest Badly Drawn Boy.Badly Drawn Boy, Damon Gough, won the Mercury Music Prize for the album Hour of the Bewilderbeast. His appearance at this event marks fifteen years since its release, which was June 2000. He gained acclaim for his “lo-fi” recordings on his early EPs released during the late 90s. Two years after the success of his debut album, Damon again rose to prominence with his contribution to the music of the film About a Boy, based on Nick Hornby’s bestselling novel. Hit singles from the soundtrack were Something to Talk About and Silent Sigh. His third album, Have You Fed the Fish? was less well received. It had a more pop sound and included the popular single All Possibilities and the quirky You Were Right. Four further albums followed, but with diminishing success. He became increasingly criticised for his occasionally shambolic and controversial live shows. However, Badly Drawn Boy has remained a particularly memorable and popular figure for many music fans.
