THE TANGO SINGER by John R. Lacey

What if childhood friends became famous tango singers? Could they endure the worldly pressures of fame, fortune and women and have their friendship still survive? Famous tango singer Carlos Gardel & partner Jose "Maestro" Razzano are passionate about young Isabel del Valle in Buenos Aires brothels & bars. The menage-a-trois climbs social echelons in Europe, exporting tangos to Parisian High-Society, testing their friendships & loyalty.

"THE DAY YOU LOVE ME" was developed dramatically in writers' workshops at Ensemble Studio Theatre, InterAct Theatre Company, Samuel French Hollywood Bookshop and the Playwrights/Directors Unit of The Actors Studio (based on "The Tango Singer", which debuted June 1st, 2012 at WestFest New Playwright's Festival @Theatre West, Hollywood.)
