This Way Out! - Sustentabilidade e Inovação

Presentation video for the virtual archaeology project "City and Spectacle: a vision of pre-earthquake Lisbon", which is implementing a recreation of Lisbon at the eve of the 1755 earthquake.
This is an ongoing project, which was recently updated and extended and is available on http://bit.ly/lisbon1755

The technology used is Second Life/OpenSimulator and the research project will allow visitors to be immersed in the virtual environment and participate in interactive historical events with other users across the world, simultaneously and in real time.

This project is part of the "Connecting Cities" project framework of the Centre for History of Art and Artistic Research (CHAIA), of the University of Évora.

The team brings together researchers in the area of Art History, specializing in the history of the city, town planning, architecture and the landscape; specialists in the creation of virtual realities and experts in the application of IT resources to research and the dissemination of history.
