I own a BUG-A-SALT 3.0. What an amazing invention! With a spray of salt, you can pulverize annoying flies and spiders. They just disappear.
Wouldn’t it be great if we could get this salt to pulverize all the annoying trials in our lives...or would it be?
Listen to Today’s Take as we look at what God says about the purpose of our trials.
Philippians 2:14,15 (AMPC)
“Do all things without grumbling and faultfinding and complaining [[a]against God] and [b]questioning and doubting…so that you may prove yourselves to be …children of God without blemish in the midst of a …perverted generation, among whom you are seen as bright lights [beacons shining out clearly] in the world [of darkness],”
No one likes to hear the words, “Look at what you did!” These words are usually spoken or screamed at us by someone who is angry with something we did that was not right. We feel shamed and embarrassed.
But what if these words, “Look at what you did” were not spoken in anger? What if they were spoken in admiration of something that we did right? What if these words were spoken to praise us?
Take a moment to listen to Today’s Take and find out what these words have to do with our praise to God.
Isaiah 25:1 (NIV) “LORD, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name…for you have done wonderful things…”
Psalm 9:1 (NLT)“I will praise you, LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all the marvelous things you have done.”
We spend our lives trying to fix people and things around us: unfulfilled expectations, rebellious children, difficult relationships, financial bankruptcy, loss of material possessions, health problems…
It’s ok to know that you CAN fix these things. But God has a message for the “Fixers” in this world- the person who feels he MUST fix everything around him. I am a fixer. If you are a fixer, too, listen to the message God gave to the Israelites in Today’s Take.
Exodus 14:13-14 (NIV) Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again.
Exodus 14:14 (NLT) The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.
Exodus 14:14 (MSG) God will fight the battle for you. And you? Keep your mouths shut!
