Spectacular Science is a collaborative project between the University for the Creative Arts & the University of Kent which aims to provide a wide audience with access to scientific knowledge and support the education of students in science subjects.
The animation I've produced is inspired by1920's animation such as the Silly Symphonies series and other early Walt Disney shorts.
A CG interpretation of Hieronymus Bosch’s painting ‘The Garden of Earthly Delights’. This animation was produced as part of a self-initiated University project for CG Arts and Animation @ UCA Rochester.
A second version of this animation also exists, exploring the possibility of bringing more of these classic paintings in 3D to new media devices, in the form of an iphone/ipod/ipad app. This version can be viewed here:
Projection Mapping project produced as the final piece for my MA degree at UCA Rochester. Inspired by James Turrell, Dan Flavin, Keith Sonnier, Olafur Eliasson and a number of other artists and practitioners . I set about creating a projection installation aboard LV21 - a decommissioned lightship currently moored at Gillingham Pier in the county of Kent in the United Kingdom. In order to develop effective content, I worked in conjunction with an event called International Lighthouse and Lightship Weekend - a worldwide amateur radio festival dedicated to the education and continued practice of radio and Morse code communication. The animations feature messages written in Morse code as visualised by dots and dashes.
