In a land where the history of the apartheid has torn a country apart, the mission becomes an education in the unity of the gospel. From the Wild Coast regions, where bandits beat a hapless couple, to the townships of Johannesburg the team witnesses the dangers and struggles of South Africa. Speaking in tent revival meetings from a bygone era Tim and Will see many give their lives to Christ Jesus. It is a mission of hope and healing in a land desperate for both.

A daring 450km journey down the Zambezi river brings Tim and Will to the majestic sight of Victoria Falls. But before they can reach Africa’s largest cascade of water, they will face territorial hippos, alligators with a taste for human blood, treacherous jungle rapids, and witch doctors who despise their mission. It is a journey of discovery, both of a remote river and the heart of man, as death is faced everyday and the message of the gospel is preached with every breath.

With estimation of nearly 500,000 killed since 2002, Darfur, Sudan has been listed as a genocide in progress, yet even with this knowledge the killings continue. Tim and Will enter Darfur and manage to get unprecedented access to the refugee camps where the stories of rape and killings make all who hear question, “why has nothing been done to stop this?” Coming face to face with the killers the missionaries face down a Janjaweed member in a remote village and question him as to why they kill. Seeing the camps of 30,000 plus refugees the guys preach the gospel to the Darfurans in a land that is staunchly Islamic and shut up from the gospel. It is the first steps in a place where lives end daily and the gospel workers are needed.

On the Eastern regions of Sudan Tim and Will undertake a rigorous expedition to a remote people named the Kachepo tribe. With bandits lurking and supplies running low the missionaries push on into the prehistoric jungles where they make contact with a tribe from another time. Unknowing to the name of Jesus, the Kachepo are curious to what is being spoken about forgiveness, as they have searched to appease the gods of the forest for their wrongdoings in the past. The word of God is spoken and the village responds with vigor to the message of truth. The sick are prayed for and the downtrodden are set free, as once again the gospel is proved to never be too far from anyone.

Firefights, clan battles, Al Qaeda terrorists, and one of the most dangerous lands in the world is what Somalia is know for, and it is with little surprise it is one of the most unreached countries for the gospel. Accepting a mission to such a place puts Tim and Will in a position of all or nothing, but in their hearts they know it is worth it. As they land on a small airstrip outside of Mogadishu, the memories of the US “Black Hawk Down” incident, where 19 US service men gave their lives in fierce urban combat against warlord factions, come to mind. With the US withdraw in ’93, Somalia has now become a lawless nation and without a working government. Tim and Will speak carefully about the gospel, as one false move will cost them their lives, and as they go deeper under the cloak of Islam all hell breaks loose. After nearly being caught in a street-side gunfight, and later the assassination attempt that leaves a friend injured with gun shot wounds, the guys are pleaded with to evacuate Mogadishu or face being hunted down. This is gospel work on the frontlines where life and death hangs in the balance, but no soul is too far from the kingdom.
