APRIL 2014 : UNTITLED WINS BEST ART HAUS FILM IN THE USA AT THE PORTLAND BIKE FILM FESTIVAL>
The award for Best Art Haus Short Film at the 2014 Portland Motorcycle Film Festival goes to a moody black and white London ride, directed by Darren Statman, and co-produced by Lucian Evans and Mark Lonsdale, called Hades. It's strikingly shot, and captures the "did I just see that...image, image, image" feel of riding through the urban unexpected. Almost makes us want to ride in the rain... Check it out: yatzer.com/Untitled-Motorcycles. And check out the bikes from Untitled Motorcycles that appear in Darren's film.
UNTITLED: BESPOKE MOTORCYCLES are a non brand of Bike builders, who strip down old bikes to their basics and focus on engine rebuilds powerful enough to wake the dead!
My idea was to move away from the cliche montage of bike shots normally associated with Motorbike Brand films due to the nature of the back to basics build for these bikes and create a narrative that treats the bike as a presence using the roar of the rebuilt bikes engine to tell a narrative of the bikers experience riding the bike and taking a shortcut through....Hell!.
The response to the film has been incredible, here's some of the reviews:
The gritty ten minute mini-pilot focuses on the non-uniformed police that patrol the mean streets of East London. It is their job to ask the questions most of us don't want to know the answers to. It is their job to take on the UK's most dangerous gangs.
Following 18 months of research, THE FIELDS looks to explore these mystery men and how their private lives are affected by the choices they have to make on the job everyday. This is not a 9 to 5.
We follow three elite taskforce members as they battle their way through this harsh urban landscape. A simple stabbing sets off a rapid chain of events which affects not only the police but also the community the gangs inhabit. Through compelling and intense narrative, we learn what it really takes to be a policeman in Hackney.
The mini-pilot is designed to give a taster of what the television series will look like. Each episode will corresponds to a shift with the taskforce team. A treatment and script of the full series are already in development.
