Well, I fixed the skipping glitch, but at the expense of video quality. For those of you interested, I copy and pasted the sequence into a new sequence with the compressor set to H.264. Re-exported it H.264, 5000kps and it worked fine, but the video quality suffers a bit.
Anyway, I filmed this all in 60i. There's a time lapse of fog in the valley in the middle of the clip.
A few hand-held shots taken at Jungle Island (formerly Parrot Jungle) in Miami, FL. with my new Canon HV20.
Shot at 60i HDV with Image Stabilization on. Captured into FCP and placed on an HDV 60i sequence timeline. Slightly color corrected a couple of the takes. Exported directly from FCP via Quicktime Component to:
5,120 kbps max.
single pass (dual pass took more than twice as long and produced inferior results)
de-interlace option turned on.
Re-compressed by vimeo even more. Download original .mov if you're curious to compare against the source encoded clip.
Brisighella and Modigliana are two nice and small villages in the center of Italy, in the Emilia Romagna region. They are surrounded by the Appennino mountains.
All shot with Canon HV20 camcorder.
Shutter set at 1/50 and polarizer filter used.
Iris set at F.1.8-2.8 for closeups.
All shot in HDV 25p mode.
Encoded with H264 codec at 3500 Kb/s data rate.
