In cooperation with the Iran-based Center for International Studies and Collaboration, Multiversity held a conference in Tehran, Iran, on the topic 'The Spring of Wisdom.' The conference ran from 22-24 May 2012 and was a followup to previous conferences in 2010 and 2011. While the earlier conferences focused on academic imperialism and decolonisation, the 2012 conference was an attempt to redirect the intellectual force of these meetings from exposing the undesirable aspects of education to illustrating and exemplifying the wealth and treasure of local, regional, and indigenous knowledge systems. The focus of the meeting was therefore on presenting knowledge as indicated by time, place, and community, emphasising practical illustrations. Thinkers and activists were invited from within Iran and from India, Malaysia, Palestine, Turkey, Tanzania, and Uganda.

Following up on the keynote presentations on Day One by Munir Fasheh and Claude and Norma Alvares, Day Two features a variety of presentations from multiple speakers on diverse topics relevant to the conference theme. Speakers include: Mohammad Azmi Abdulhamid (Malaysia), Claude and Norma Alvares (India), Ahmad Murad Merican (Malaysia), Ismail Hakki Akkiraz (Turkey), Hassan Rahimpour Azghadi (Iran), Munir Fasheh (Palestine), Ahmad Amini (Iran), Hossein Ali Azimi (Iran), Augustine Nwoye (Tanzania), Ibrahim Pur and Ertugrul Yaman (Turkey), Hossein Rouzbeh (Iran), Babuuzibwa Luutu (Uganda), C. K. Raju (India), Mohammad Mazandarani (Iran), and Mohideen Abdul Kader (Malaysia). In English and Farsi.
