Changemakers in Uganda

  1. "I Am Fundi" is a short documentary depicting the education system in Uganda and the measures that the organization, Fundibots, is taking to create change. Victor, a Fundi teacher with a challenging past, is changing the future of Uganda by preparing and instilling excitement for science in young children so that when they grow, they will be confident, supported, and prepared for contemporary practices and technological advances. The changes Fundibots is bringing about not only take place in the school system but in all of Uganda. Through their work, they are teaching people to create solutions, not expect them.

    Fundi Bots provides the only space in Uganda with access to practical and updated technology instruments, materials, and support.

  3. This is the story of Winnie, a woman who stood up for herself and used her legal rights to overcome a multitude of hardships. Winnie has received assistance from Barefoot Law, an organization that is dedicated to providing Ugandans with access to justice. They work tirelessly to empower citizens with the law through free legal advice and services.

  4. Every shoe has a story.
    In Kampala, Uganda, Sseko began as a plan to generate income for high potential, talented young women so they could continue their education at a university level. Every woman who has graduated from Sseko is currently pursuing her college degree or has graduated from university, and the project continues.

    BrandOutLoud is driven by the desire to innovate and push the boundaries of visual, multi-media storytelling. In which aesthetic and powerful imagery is the key for successful communication: Visualise to persuade.

    This video is part of a multi-country video production commissioned by SNV for their Girls in Control programme. BrandOutLoud travelled to and worked in Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Uganda and Ethiopia. Portraying the girls getting control of their health and future. Showing the people involved breaking the silence on menstruation. These are their stories.
